It’s in the Details (and a winner announcement)…..

Thank you to all who posted on my “Why Mini” post recently. I offered up some mini albums to use to create with. The randomly selected winner is……

Congrats! I will be emailing you for your address :)

Today I want to show you some fun ideas to add details to your mini album, and show my Merry Memories 2011 album. I love creating my Christmas albums ahead of time so I can easily just slip photos in and journal and it’s all done. This year I created Merry Memories 2011 to teach at my local scrapbook store. I added several little details that add that “extra” interest to the book.

Here’s a look at the album:

Here are some examples that you can easily recreate in your own albums for any theme or season:

Use a cute tab punched from patterned paper and with a stamp applied for a title.

Border punch festive/specialty paper (this is the glitter paper by Teresa Collins…cuts like butter!)

Punch is EK Success

Stamp and color in the title to add some extra interest. Add a punch flower that has been stamped on peeking out from the title.

Use die cuts that have been stamped on and embellished onto your page!

Stamp, cut out your image and then use Glossy Accents by Ranger to add a nice, thick clear coat to the image.

Die cut canvas flowers (using Sticky Back Canvas by Ranger) and stamp on them to add interest.

Cut banners and lay them across the bottom of your mini book layout. Add a punched border above it with some bakers twine.

I hope you will try some of these in your next mini album!

Happy Thursday!
