Mad Tea Party Mini
Hello bloggers! My name is Kimmy Jaster & I am SO EXCITED to be asked to contribute here at Outstanding Mini Albums! Minis are probably my favorite way to preserve memories. I love giving them as gifts too!
As I child I dreamed of Disneyland and riding the Teacups. I FINALLY got to go to Disneyland last year. I loved it so much I went twice! The Teacups became an instant favorite, such a fun, colorful ride to take pictures of too! We went on it at least once a day each time we were there. I had so many pictures I created a whole mini album from them!
My cover started out a disaster, but I love the way it ended up. I had tried following a resist tutorial using glaze medium and mist, but they didn’t quite react the same way on the wooden cover I had. I ended up giving the whole thing a whitewash of gesso to turn it into a Monet like pastel background. I covered up most of it with some Punky blooms which made me think of tea parties. I decorated my cover with some Disney stickers and more Color Shine mist (on the banner & on the seam binding tied on top).
The little bottle has some Color Shine mist in in it. I glued it on with Diamond Glaze. I also used Diamond Glaze to decorate the teapot & cup.
I love these little tea pot & clock charms that I tied onto the binding & dangle on the cover.
The inside cover was made by dripping Color Shine mist on the wooden piece with an eyedropper as it was standing upright in a box.
The flair on the top page was purchased at Disneyland. The polka dots on the bottom page are chipboard dots that stand up 3 dimensionally. Here are the rest of the interior pages.
This is probably my favorite 2 page layout of the book. I used lots of mist resist products on this page ( the butterflies, hearts, tag, and banner).
Inside of the back cover. I created the dots with a mask.
Back cover with stamping & more drippy mist.
